My new apartment came equipped with some fabulous amenities . . . and others that are not so fabulous. Take, for instance, the fact that we (my roommate and I) cannot paint any of the rooms. Add on to that the fact that my bathroom is bright orange in color. Two weeks ago, I saw this as the worst thing about the place, yet, funny enough, my perspective has flipped. That very same bathroom is now my favorite room. For this reason, I felt it my duty to share how I made it so.
Step 1: Increasing Storage
Worse than the hard-to-match color was the fact that when it came to storage this bathroom had one towel rod, one tiny medicine cabinet, one small cupboard (that also houses the sink plumbing) and pretty much zero counter space. To change this, I shopped around and found a two-shelf, single-rod storage unit for around
$15 at
Target and installed it, replacing the sole rod and skyrocketing the space's usefulness. Additionally, I chose to free up counter space by using the shelves to house extra knick-knacks and buying a tree-branch
toothbrush holder (from
CB2) that attaches to the wall, for
$9.

Step 2: Finding the Shower Curtain
Probably the most difficult task was finding the perfect shower curtain that would suit my taste (for hopefully much longer than one year) yet still match the room. Enter, again, CB2. This store had pretty much everything I could have ever asked for, including a wonderfully bright shower curtain (
Rain or Shine) -- for just
$40 -- that goes with not only the bathroom but the artwork I had planned to adorn its walls with.
Step 3: Decorating the Rest
The final step was adding a touch of flare, which was not difficult because I already owned some of the things I had in mind. The artwork (
picture above-right) I had collected more than a year ago and includes a framed copy of
Rosie the Riveter and an autographed Rooney poster, picturing the band's 2010 album
Eureka. On the shelves I have placed a gorgeous box, gifted to me from a co-worker, and a funky miniature disco light I received for Christmas years ago. The newer additions include a round vase I purchased at
Home Goods to house extra roles of toilet paper (you can never really have too much of that stuff) and a wonderfully comfy
cirrus rug from CB2.
P.S. These don't really count as décor, but I also found
eco-friendly bamboo toothbrushes in a set of four, reminding purchasers to change their toothbrush every three months (as is recommended).
By the end of the movie, I was full-on obsessed with Audrey's chic pigtails (pictured right) and just had to replicate them with my own hair. Highlighted above is the end result. I may not have been able to "bump it," but it was still great inspiration ... and I may just wear my hair like this more often.

If you're like me even a little bit, you've occasionally visited IMDb with a question or two about some actor or film. If you're not like me, you probably don't know what IMDb is so, briefly, it is a large database of film information, highlights, clips and just information about films in general. Well, now there's a similar source for information about the world of fashion.
Nina Dobrev, one of the stars of TV's The Vampire Diaries, looked lovely and summer-y for the occasion in a very cute, Dorothy esque D&G dress (and clutch). To top of her outfit she paired the look with Ferragamo shoes and Ippolita jewelry.
Twilight's Nikki Reed went for the maxi dress trend at this year's award show and really nailed it in this Etro design. Similar to Dobrev, Reed paired her dress with Ferragamo but chose a clutch rather than shoes.
Also of Twilight fame, Taylor Lautner truly looked suave at Teen Choice in his signature dark jeans and V-neck. This time, however, he paired the classics with an amazing dark brown AllSaints replica jacket . . . I must say: He looks HOT (and by that I mean overheated).
I can't really say I'm a fan of this celeb (or of his shoe choice for that matter), but I will give singer Joe Jonas props for the rest of his outfit. This two-button, beige Z Zegna suit is a perfect summer look, which Jonas paired with a Chan Luu necklace and Martin Margiela shoes.

Yesterday would have been the lovely Natalie Wood's 73rd birthday had she not died at such a young age. In honor of her memory, and impeccable fashion, check out some amazing portraits of the star below.

It's pretty much a given that Emma Watson made the list. That aside, Watson's gorgeous Oscar de la Renta gown fits the tone of the films perfectly through its whimsical, fairy-tale style. The neutral gray and beige tones look great with the actress' newly darker 'do as well.
Clemence Posey, who plays Fleur Delacour, went for a similar style to Emma's but with a much more summery feel (and some truly stand-out footwear). The dress is lovely and she really owns it.
Many of you may be thinking, what the heck is Glee's Darren Criss doing in this lineup? Well, I'll tell you. It just so happens that Criss rose to stardom not long after starring as the boy wizard himself in A Very Potter Musical at University of Michigan. So, naturally, the hunk has been on hand at a few of the premieres since and manages to look incredible (and crazy energetic) each time. I just love his patriotic (USA) attire in lieu of the recent festivities across the Atlantic (he's wearing head to toe Tommy Hilfiger).
Last but not least is Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy!) looking quite dapper in an amazing suit. His character is one of my faves and I can't wait to see some of his big scenes in the finale.
I just cannot help myself when it comes to high fashion and Emma Watson embodies everything I wish to be: she's classy, she's smart, she's generous, she's fashionable, she's creative, and the list goes on. Anyway, when I saw her on the cover of the new Harper's Bazaar UK, I was stoked because it meant I was in for some amazing shots and some amazing fashion.
